Hello everyone!
We have a very handsome gentleman available for adoption, called Lucky. He is roughly 11 years old, treated for parasites, vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. He is currently in foster care in Brighton.
Lucy came into our care under sensitive circumstances. Now in a loving foster home, he is ready to begin a new chapter of his life. Lucky is incredibly affectionate with people, with a particular soft spot for the ladies. He is a purr machine who absolutely adores spending time with his favourite human. Lucky is the happiest when he has someone special by his side. Every now and again he might even surprise you with a sudden burst of energy chasing a fly around the room in an adorable display of zoomies. Although his little face might make him look as though he is permanently frowning, there's a very happy cat behind that expression.
Blood tests have confirmed he is one healthy fluffy gentleman. He does suffer with arthritis, so he will need a home that understands and accommodates his age related needs. He eats a senior food diet, but is quite fussy, often showing little enthusiasm for meal times despite being offered a variety of choices.
There is one important aspect that we need to be completely honest about. When Lucky gets stressed, he can toilet inappropriately, this is linked to environmental stress, not health related, and finding the right home will be crucial in helping him feel secure and settled. While we cannot guarantee that this behaviour will disappear entirely, we feel that a calm, stable environment combined with patience and understanding will give him the best possible chance of success.
Lucky has shown us how deeply he bonds with his chosen person, he can become anxious when separated from the human he adores. He needs a safe haven and someone who will give him time, reassurance and unconditional love. He has so much affection to give, we really want to find him the person who will cherish him for who he is, including his little quirks and vulnerabilities.
If you are ready to offer him a chance, please read his adoption requirements carefully, as finding the right match is essential for his long term happiness and wellbeing.
THE IDEAL FOREVER HOME FOR LUCKY:
- experienced, patient, committed owner who understands that an older cat might need extra time, reassurance and a little flexibility
- a quiet, single-person household with a lady who is home for most of the day, Lucky finds comfort in human company and may struggle when left alone for extended periods
- a peaceful environment, Lucky does not cope well with excessive noise, busy households or too much commotion, he needs a calm home where he can relax without feeling overwhelmed
- a safe and secure living environment, an indoor-only home with securely meshed windows or a properly cat-proofed balcony would be ideal; alternatively, access to a very secure garden may be considered, provided the surroundings are exceptionally quiet and far away from busy roads
- must be the only pet, so he can enjoy a stress free environment and receive all the attention and companionship he deserves
We appreciate these requirements are quite specific and we may well be searching for a needle in a haystack, but we are determined to give Lucky the best chance of a successful adoption.
