Description
Dexter is a dog I personally bred, he has been with me now for a couple of months, he was returned by his previous owner due to a change personal circumstances meaning he could no longer care for him.
I personally own his mum and his brother who I kept from the litter.

Dexters is 75% Dobermann and 25% Bandogge
His mum is a 50/50 cross.
Keres (dexters mum) is one of my favourite dogs to own, she is such a wonderful all rounded, balanced dog. She is very easy to own, easy and eager to train and gives any task you give her 110% effort and intensity. She is very highly driven when it comes to work but a very calm easy dog day to day as long as all her mental and physical needs are met.
Keres has competed in multiple protection sports trials across the uk placing top 3 on various occasions against some of the best working dogs in the uk. As Keres is a 50/50 mix her mum is a purebred Dobermann and her dad is a bandogge called Duece, a very very well known dog in the working dog scene.
Midas (Dexters dad) is an exceptional example of the breed with all the traits we know and love about the dobermann. Midas is also exceptional when it comes to working in protection sports as the breed was bred for. Taking himself multiple trophies home. He is a descendant of one of the most well known Doberman’s in the uk, Hagan.
There are a few reasons why I have gone down the crossbreed route. Firstly because Dobermanns are so unhealthy with a lot of hereditary issues. Secondly when it comes to the workability of the breed it has been watered down a lot over the years. This mix is to try and increase the longevity and workability.
Dexter lived as an active pet in his previous home and since I’ve owned him I have done a couple of protection training sessions and can really see ALOT of potential in him if the time and effort is put into him. He is a big, strong powerful dog with a lot of intensity, I would ideally want him to go to a home that will continue this sort of training/work with him. An active pet home will be okay but he will need to be with someone who is experienced in these kind of breeds/working dogs.
Dexter is social towards people and has seemed good with the dogs I have mixed him with. He is a very loving sweet dog carrying a lot of your typical Dobermann traits. He is fully house trained, crate trained, knows basic commands but he will need ongoing training to bring out the best in him. He will need to work on neutrality towards other dogs when out and about because he gets over stimulated when we are out and about ( this does not seem to be aggression but more over arousal) this has got a lot better with me so with the correct, ongoing training I don’t see it being a problem in the future.
