Description
Maisy is a bright, energetic 1-year-old Border Collie with huge potential, currently looking for a home that can offer her the lifestyle she truly needs.
She is highly intelligent, eager to learn, and thrives in structured training environments. She attends weekly training sessions and performs exceptionally well, showing strong focus and a real willingness to work. Training videos are available to demonstrate her progress.
Maisy has a very high drive, particularly for chasing movement (cars, bikes, buses, and people), which means she requires a secure environment and an experienced owner who understands working breeds. She would be best suited to a home where she can channel this drive into activities such as agility, herding, scent work, or other structured outlets.
At home, Maisy is affectionate and loving. She enjoys cuddles on the sofa and has a cheeky, playful personality. She is confident and can be strong-willed, so she needs clear boundaries and consistent handling.
She currently lives with another dog (German Shepherd) and gets on very well—she is playful and social with him. She also lives with cats, though she does chase them, so a cat-free home or one experienced in managing this behaviour would be preferable.
Maisy is good with children (currently living with ages 7 and 9), although she can be excitable—she may jump up or bump into them during play. This is improving with training but should be considered.
She is crate trained, generally clean in the house, and will toilet outside when given routine and guidance. She can be vocal, particularly when excited or seeking attention, and may bark and pull on the lead when greeting people.
Maisy would not be suited to a home on a busy road or with an insecure garden, as she has the ability to jump and a strong instinct to chase.
