Description
Affable little fella ‘Yo-na’- Native American
for ‘bear’ a miniature version of course! I
am noted for my love affair with every dog I
come across & for being super responsive
to people.
A little bit about me in my own words
I’m told by the charity that people love
fluffy dogs so I’m thinking my time to shine
(with a few added lugs) has finally come.
I’m a lap dog in my mind as you can see
from the pictures & if my legs stick up in the
air this doesn’t mean I don’t fit on your
knee- honest….. I’m pretty light at 12-14kg
& at 2years of age (estimated) I’m not going
to grow any bigger than my current fairly
diminutive proportions. I’m ideal as I offer
the best of all world both in my stature &
personality. I can snuffle about and potter
on my own/with other dogs as well as bring
super responsive to the humans close by.
I’m neither over needy nor too independent.
Leesa said I offer a delightful balance. I’ll
make you feel like you’re the entire world to
me in every moment I’m with you.
Apparently I’m funny too without trying to
be. Height wise (you can see my scale on
the images)- I’m not too small but I’m not a
full medium either and the coat probably
adds to my girth.
The vet remarked on how great I am with
other dogs. This validates it as she sees so
many pooches that I have to be really
special to stand out. I’m an older spirit in a
younger body at times so you get maturity
as well as my youthful & sprightly
companionship. I’m not a pup and I haven’t
chewed the wooden huts I sleep in though
I’m cheerful & active to be around. You’re
going to have an amazing family member &
pal in me if you say ‘yes’. I’m like a wee
bear. If you’re a household of several
members including children, a couple or
single living folk I’m going to be content. In
terms of resident dogs again I’m relatively
open though if you have no cats or dogs I’d
certainly want access to them whether it’s
doggy play dates or running around a beach
with them. I love my own kind as much as I
adore people so it’s important I can frolic
around with others at some point in the
weekly schedule. My reality is that as well
as being impossibly cute, amiable, easy
going & quiet I’m also at risk Leesa says.
That means I’m not safe unless I’m
adopted. Ask the charity to learn more
about this & read about it in their
introductory pack when you make an
enquiry. Leesa first photographed me in
April 26’ but she’s so busy she hasn’t had
chance to really showcase me as she’s
trying to save so many dogs. I’ve already
been here a year so that gives you an idea
of how spirited I am when I can remain so
upbeat when I’ve been homeless & bored
for so long.
P.S don’t worry about my eye as it’s healed
now. It was sore in April 26’ from temporary
trauma catching it on something I think.
Are you my special person?

My name in different countries:-
Hebrew Origin: Meaning "dove" or
"pigeon." It is the original Hebrew version
of the name Jonah and is used as a unisex
given name.
Native American (Cherokee): Meaning
"bear." In Cherokee traditions, bears
symbolize wisdom, strength, and
guardianship.
Korean (Yeon-hwa): In Korean culture (and
the popular anime/manga Yona of the
Dawn), Yona is derived from Yeon-hwa,
which translates to "lotus flower".
Japanese: Depending on the characters
(kanji) used, it can mean "night," "love," or
"harmony".
CHamoru (Guam): It is the name of a
village derived from the word iyo-ña, which
translates to "to own" or "someone's
possession."
