It's with a heavy heart we are looking for Louie a new forever home. It's been a difficult decision for us. We've had him around 6 months and we have been toying with the idea but wanted to try our best to help him. We want to be completely honest about him so we can find him the right forever home. Louie is a wonderful family dog. He's fantastic with children, loves people and currently lives with our other 4 dogs. Never had any trouble with them. One of Louie's favourite places is the garden, he will happily spend all day out there if you let him by choice and comes inside when he knows it's bedtime and time to settle down. He has free access to the house all day, but simply prefers to being outdoors. He has excellent recall off lead in an open field, knows his commands well and is a very well trained intelligent dog. The reason why we are looking fo Louie a new home, is that he can become overstimulated in a busy household. When this happens, he develops compulsive habit of licking the walls which has become increasing difficult for us to manage. We got this checked by the vets and has no neurological issues at all, it's just his overstimulation and have tried techniques to help him with this. It doesn't happen all the time as I say, just when there's a lot going on. We feel he would be so much happier in a calm , quieter home with less activities other than his daily walks. Louie also has epilepsy. He was prescribed monthly medications, and only ever had one seizure while he was with us. After discussing his care and his return to a healthy wait we stopped his medication and thankfully not experienced a size since , although he still may happen in the future. Any potential new home needs to be aware of this and helps manage it in the future for him. This isn't about Louie being a bad dog, he's far far from it. He's loving, loyal, a great companion and pleasure to have all the time other than the bad points. We believe he would be better on a quieter environment. Finding the right home is above money and anything else, and we won't rush the process. We want Louie to be happy, stable and to have that forever home.
