⭐️ Meet Sanchez ⭐️
🏡 Sanchez is in foster with us in the West Midlands.
❤️ He is a 7 year old mixed breed male, on the larger side of medium (24kg).
❤️ Sanchez needs a special home, a home filled with patience. He isn't naughty or aggressive, he is scared! He doesn’t just automatically trust everyone he meets. He will need time and patience in order to trust you. It is highly unlikely he will be the ‘perfect’ ‘ready-made’ companion as soon as he steps foot in your home, which is exactly why he was returned to us in December after being adopted. He was returned within a couple of days because he was so scared he growled and when backed into a corner he nipped. Despite telling the adopters over and over again that all he needs is time and space, they didn’t give that to him. I understand this means the likelihood of Sanchez being adopted again is slim to none, but I will continue to try! Because he is actually so lovely and such an easy, beautiful boy once you get past the initial barriers. All it takes is time and treats.
❤️ Sanchez has spent most of his life in a rescue, he had likely never lived in a home before or been a loved member of the family! Despite this, he has settled into life in our home so well. He has picked up lovely house manners and loves being part of the family. On the whole Sanchez is a cracking boy and no trouble to us at all.
❤️ He is living with children currently, but I think an adult only home would be best mainly due to him needing time to settle initially.
❤️ He lived with lots of dogs in the rescue and greets them nicely on walks. He gets very curious of cats on walks, and the rescue said he doesn't mind them.
❤️ He is fully house trained. He has no problem being left in the day, no separation anxiety, and is not destructive.
❤️ He is crate trained on a bedtime and settles fine all night. He is great with routine.
❤️ Sanchez has learnt 'sit', 'paw', and 'stay' quickly and is food motivated.
❤️ He travels well in the car.
❤️ Sanchez is getting more confident with strangers out on walks, but he is nervous of people coming into our home. Work would need to be done if you have a lot of visitors.
❤️ He fancies himself as a bit of a guard dog and likes to bark if he thinks someone is coming to the house (which we quite like). He likes to make sure his people are safe.
❤️ He loves going on walks, long or short. He doesn't need hours of walking to keep him happy, but he would equally make a great hiking buddy and loves an adventure. His lead walking is mostly good, but he does pull if there is a delicious smell or if he knows he's on the way home. We don't find this unmanageable. He is not reactive, and we enjoy walking him.
❤️ You can tell Sanchez has been waiting for a chance to be loved for so long. All he needs is someone to show him he is loved and safe, someone who isn't going to give up on him. He really does deserve a family to call his own. If you want to do something amazing and give an older, bigger, scared boy a chance get in touch🐶🐾

Sanchez is microchipped, neutered, fully vaccinated and vetted prior to travel to the UK, 4dx tested, IFAT tested, up to date with flea and worm treatment, and has an EU Passport.
Adopters are welcome to keep his harness, lead, and coat. He will also be rehomed with some of his current dog food.
Home requirements:
🌳 Secure garden
🐕 Other dogs in the house must be neutered
📣 Must keep in touch with the rescue so they can see how well he is doing
