Well-started and thriving, they’re bright, active little explorers with the gorgeous red-and-orange markings this species is famous for. As a licensed hobby breeder with over 20 years of family experience keeping and breeding tortoises, I raise every hatchling in my own home with plenty of care and attention. The result is healthy, confident little babies with calm, friendly natures. Unlike Mediterranean tortoises, they don’t hibernate — they enjoy warmth and higher humidity year-round, plus a varied diet including some greens and occasional fruit. Adults reach around 30–40cm and, with the right care, can live 50 years or more — a genuine lifelong companion.
