Description
The Aldabra Tortoise, also known as the Giant Seychelles Tortoise, originates from the Aldabra Atoll in the Seychelles, along with a few surrounding islands.
Reason for Sale:
This tortoise is only being offered for sale due to our upcoming immigration to Australia. Unfortunately, we are unable to take him with us, and we are therefore seeking a knowledgeable and responsible new home.
Prospective owners should be aware that Aldabra tortoises grow very rapidly. A young, maturing male Aldabra aged approximately 24–26 years typically measures around 101–118cm (40–44 inches). Adult males can grow up to 4ft in length and weigh as much as 250kg.
While growth slows significantly in adulthood, Aldabra tortoises continue to grow throughout their lives. This species is known for exceptional longevity, often living 150 years or more. They are non-hibernating and require appropriate heat year-round.
The Aldabra tortoise is listed under Annex B and does not require an Article 10 CITES certificate for legal sale.
Collection only.
