Description

We currently have a nearly 4 year old female Cavapoo called Mabel. Due to unfortunate circumstances we are needing to re home her through no fault of her own. We have had Mabel since she was 14 weeks old, over the last 12 months we have worked tirelessly to help both our autistic non verbal son who has a learning disability accept Mabel but this is not working. We have tried everything and currently daily are needing to keep them separate which is becoming increasingly difficult due to our 10 year olds needs which have become alot more than we could have anticipated. At first they got on completely fine but now this is not the case at all. We are looking to rehome Mabel and find someone who can take her and give her the attention she deserves, i have contacted numerous rehoming facilities but as you can imagine they are full and have long waiting lists. Mabel is microchipped with details up to date, receipt of purchase from breeder who also can not have her back, she is vaccinated up to date and registered and Nantwich Vets. Mabel is not spayed. She is good with adults and also our youngest child however she does not like unfamiliar spaces like the vets and having around her feet groomed and clipped. My main concern is that currently the struggle now at home with my son Bailey his high care needs and Mabel she is not getting any where near the attention she needs. She doesn't like the vets, I think this maybe due to the fact the last time we went they tried to cut her nails and she doesn't like that at all. However will let you mess with her feet. She has only ever met dogs on walks (all on her lead). Quick sniff and she's been fine. We have a cat pass through the garden oftern and she barks at him so unsure how she would be with cats. She's only ever been off her lead in the dog parks we book or in the fields near home, she then walks by our side. Very excitable when familiar family come in to the home. I have always put her away when say workmen or delivery men have called. A few barks then thats it. She can be let out on the front lawn and then comes in when called. I think what it is with our son is because she wants constant attention from him he really doesnt like it. She wants to be by someone's side constantly bless her. He just screams and becomes so distressed when she's around. Poor Mabel cant even be the other side of the kitchen and he thinks she's looking at her. She is fine if I take bowls of food away or toys away while she's messing with them. However if she was eating a bone or something she is really enjoying then she doesnt like that. Fine being groomed. I have recently cut her completely down during the last bit of a heat wave. Mabel has a small benign cyst below her ear. This does not cause any discomfort or has never wept. The veterinary nurse advised unless there was any cause for concern it did not need to be removed unless we wanted to for cosmetic reasons. I am happy and willing to keep her Petplan covered for life insurance policy running for a few months after for peace of mind to genuine people. I would also like my partner to be here for any viewing for peace of mind of the right people taking Mabel. This is a real genuine reason for rehoming and please be assured this has not been taken lightly.
