💙🐶 REGGIE – A HAPPY, LOVING BOY WHO WILL MAKE SOMEONE VERY, VERY HAPPY 🐶💙 🇬🇧🐾 UK BASED 🐾🇬🇧 🏠 LOOKING FOR FOREVER OR FOSTER-TO-ADOPT HOME 🏠 📍 Currently in East Sussex BN8 🌟 RBU, post-adoption support & 4 weeks insurance provided upon adoption (on request) 🌟 🔄 REGGIE IS LOOKING FOR A NEW HOME Reggie arrived in the UK in mid-September under foster-to-adopt, and there is absolutely no question that his family think he is a WONDERFUL dog. ❤️ Unfortunately, after living together for a couple of weeks, they have realised that he isn't the right match for their resident dog. There have been NO fights or confrontation between them. The problem is that their resident dog is already a nervous, very sensitive girl, and since Reggie's arrival she has shown increasing signs of stress — becoming more reactive on walks, unsettled at home and increasingly over-grooming herself. One of reasons is that Reggie gets extremely excited by squirrels and wildlife, pulling and barking when he sees them. This winds up the resident dog enormously and means they can no longer comfortably walk the two dogs together. Sometimes two lovely dogs simply aren't the right match for each other. So the family have made the difficult but responsible decision to find Reggie a more suitable home. 🐾 Meet Reggie Reggie is a 2-year-old, small/lower-medium boy who his family describe as “a wonderfully affectionate dog who will melt into your lap and make you feel like the most important person in the world.” 💙 He is a smiley, happy character — confident yet polite, affectionate yet independent, curious and full of youthful zest for life. ✨ Highlights ✨ • SIZE: Small/lower-medium – approx. 42 cm / 12–13 kg • NEUTERED: Yes • CHARACTER: Affectionate • Happy • Confident • Friendly • Curious • Polite • DOGS: Friendly and gentle • CATS: No – prey drive • CHILDREN: Previously described as gentle and friendly with children • HOME LIFE: Fully house-trained • Non-destructive • Quiet overnight • Settles when left for short periods • TRAVEL: Happily gets into the car and settles once moving 🐾 More About Reggie This summer, during my annual trip to Ukraine, I visited the shelter and had the pleasure to meet Reggie myself. And what a handsome boy he is!!! 😍 He made such a lovely impression on me and my daughter — calm, sweet, affectionate and completely friendly with everyone around him, people and dogs alike. He is small, a lovely compact boy, and there was something incredibly gentle and easy about being around him. Sometimes you read descriptions and try to imagine what a dog is really like. With Reggie, I can genuinely say he is a beautiful, sweet-natured boy who deserves to be someone's much-loved family dog. 💙 Reggie is wonderfully uncomplicated with people. He happily meets strangers straight away, but doesn't overwhelm them. He is pleased to see you, interested in making friends and very affectionate, while still having lovely manners about it. On arrival to England, at home, Reggie has been an absolute star. Not ONE toilet accident, no destructive behaviour, quiet through the night and happy being handled, brushed and having his collar and lead put on. He communicates his needs clearly, eats well and shows no food guarding. He loves squeaky toys — although soft toys may have a rather short life expectancy! 😂 He is friendly with both people and dogs and has shown no aggression or reactivity towards them. He can be possessive of toys and human attention, so although he CAN live with another suitable dog, we think Reggie might particularly enjoy being someone's one-and-only special boy. 💙 His main excitement is wildlife. Reggie loves chasing squirrels and can become very stimulated by wildlife-rich woodland, pulling and barking in excitement. His current family live in a very remote area surrounded by lot of wildlife, so managing this has become a significant part of every walk. But we still think that semi-rural quite environment will suit him better and walks on a long line lead, training “leave it” cue, will help to manage his walks better and make them pleasant for all parties. 🏡 Ideal Home Reggie needs loving people who want an affectionate companion and are happy to continue working calmly on his excitement around wildlife. He could potentially live with another friendly, well-matched dog, but that’s not a must. He enjoys his walks and needs normal daily exercise and enrichment, but at home he has already shown that he can settle wonderfully. And perhaps the best description of Reggie comes directly from the family who have spent these first weeks with him: “Reg is a wonderful dog who just wants to love and be loved. He will make someone very, very happy.” ❤️ 💞 Reggie has already shown just how wonderful a family dog he can be — affectionate, happy, beautifully behaved at home and full of love. Now we simply need to find the family where he can truly belong and be someone’s very special boy. 💙🐾 🩺 Health Information Reggie is healthy, neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.
