Description

Aaaahhhh… Monty… 💛 Some dogs are loud. Some dogs are bold. And then there is Monty. Monty is softness. Monty is quiet loyalty. Monty is that gentle little soul who just wants to belong. He doesn’t ask for much. Truly. A calm voice. A warm hand. A home without rush or chaos. A place where he can finally exhale. 💛 His Story: Monty is about 6 years old, ± 39 cm shoulder height and around 16 kg. Possibly a Sheltie / German Spitz / Pomeranian mix — maybe even a little Welsh Corgi in there. Whatever the mix… he is simply adorable. He was rescued from a public kill shelter and has now spent nearly three years in private kennels, waiting. Waiting quietly. Watching others leave. Even his sweet best friend Daisy — the one he leaned on for comfort — has been adopted. And Monty? Still there. Years… have passed. Isn’t it finally his turn? 🥺 🌸 What Kind of Home Does Monty Need?: Monty is a sensitive boy. Busy shelter life overwhelms him. He feels insecure in loud, crowded environments. He needs: A warm, calm, loving home Gentle people with a soft heart and a soft approach A secure, man-high (6 ft) fenced garden, where he can safely relax and practise little steps with his person Time. Patience. Reassurance. He wants to be your friend — in a quiet, tender way. Not pushy. Not demanding. Just… devoted. He can wear a harness and lead — he really wants to — but he is still a little unsure. He simply hasn’t had enough calm one-to-one guidance. Imagine practising together in the garden first… building confidence step by step… celebrating small victories. That bonding time would mean the world to him. 🐾 Another Dog?: Would he enjoy a friendly (preferably female) dog companion? Yes, very possibly — it could give him extra confidence. Is it absolutely required? No. If his new family can offer him enough love, patience, structure and companionship, Monty can thrive as the only dog too. What truly matters is emotional safety and connection. 🏡 Adoption Conditions: Friends InDeed is a registered Charity. Adrian and the team at Friends inDEED have been wonderful. We were able to go meet our dog with her sisters and we were in frequent communication during the adoption, and since with updates etc. We were also provided with some food, and lent a harness & lead to bring her home. She has already been incredibly well trained for a rescue dog as we have had no toilet accidents and she is already wonderful on her lead.
