Description
This is our 4 year old male Whippet/Italian Greyhound weighing 12kg. He has been with us since 8weeks old and is fully house trained, lead trained and crate trained. He doesn’t have separation anxiety and can be left at home alone in his crate for a couple hours whilst we aren’t in. I have not left him out the crate if gone for more than 20mins.
He loves to play, loves other dogs but is selective. He loves food and his owners and always wants to cuddle with you on the sofa or bed.
He can be a couch potato and doesn’t need a lot of walks during the day. He requires a good run off lead or a 30min walk once a day and then sleeps the rest of the day.
His recall is 70/30 so I let him off on long leads sometimes in new parks. He doesn’t like cats and is weary of strangers he doesn’t know but soon warms up to them once he feels safe.
I am looking for a new loving forever home for him that doesn’t have children because of his bad resource guarding which can cause him to nip and growl if not dealt with properly. I have tried to train it out of him for a while now but my child does not fully understand such boundaries or training tips provided and is really causing him to fail due to the inconsistency.
We love him and want the very best for him because he is such a loyal and loving dog so for him to do well, he will need to be in a home that’s child free, with consistent training and routine and a household that understand dogs
