Description
Daisy & Monty are two deeply bonded souls who have already survived more than most.
Both were rescued from public kill shelters, though at different times, and later spent many months in private kennels. Despite everything, they remain soft, gentle and kind — to people and other dogs alike.
MONTY (around 5 years old) is a small-to-medium boy, about 39 cm high and 15 kg.
He may be a mix of Sheltie, German Spitz or Pomeranian, possibly with a touch of Corgi.
He’s sweet and affectionate, but also sensitive — the world can easily feel too big for him.
DAISY (born June 2023) is a small-to-medium girl (around 38 cm), possibly with Sheltie or Poodle ancestry. She’s curious yet cautious, and finds courage in Monty’s calm presence. The two have become each other’s safe place.
After everything they’ve been through, Daisy & Monty carry emotional “backpacks” that will take time to gently unpack — through love, patience, and quiet understanding.
They are like flowers that haven’t fully opened yet; with warmth and care, they will slowly reveal their beauty.
What they need is not training or quick progress, but people who can love them exactly as they are — fearful, tender, still learning to trust. They need calm humans who can give them space to arrive, to breathe, and to believe that love is real and lasting.
A secure, well-fenced garden (at least man-height, including gates) is essential, especially for Monty — he’s a clever little acrobat who could otherwise find a way out. The garden will be their safe world at first: a place to explore, relax and do their business, as walks on a lead will only come much later, once trust and stability are firmly in place.
💛 Daisy & Monty can be met and gently introduced here at Friends InDeed, Nottingham NG14 6NY.
Please remember: their hearts open slowly, but once they trust, their love is pure and loyal.
💛 We’re looking for:
A very quiet home (no young children, no noise or chaos)
A fully enclosed, safe garden
Someone present most of the time, with calm, gentle energy
Experience or natural feeling for shy or traumatized dogs
A heart that can love without expectations or pressure
They would ideally be adopted together, as they draw deep comfort from each other’s presence.
Both are fully vaccinated and neutered.
Daisy & Monty are not projects to train — they are hearts to protect.
Once they feel safe, they truly blossom: they enjoy soft voices, gentle affection, and the quiet joy of simply being near someone who cares.
The adoption fee is £800 for the pair – this covers their costs, as Daisy and Monty truly belong together. 💛
🐾 About Friends InDeed
Friends InDeed is a registered charity fully devoted to rescuing and rehoming dogs in need.
A home check (sometimes online) is always required.
We do not place dogs with people who don’t genuinely love dogs, and we do not provide working, service or assistance dogs, no matter how noble the cause.
Our only goal is to find loving, permanent homes.
We ask for your honest promise that Daisy & Monty will live as family companions, well cared for and loved.
By adopting from us, you also agree to stay in touch, so we can support you if ever needed.
To adopt from us, you must have your own secure garden and no children under 10.
We are 100% authentic and transparent, and we go to great lengths to save lives.
Adoption donations may vary depending on circumstances; in most cases they don’t even cover our costs — but we’re flexible and always open to discussion with the right adopters.
Our preferred way of contact is phone or WhatsApp, as we both work during the day and have limited email access. It’s quicker and more personal.
We stay in touch with all our adopters (over 500 families so far!) and can provide excellent references upon request.
As with many of our rescues, we can transport Daisy & Monty almost anywhere in the UK — from St Helier to Lerwick — and you won’t pay a penny until they’re safely with you.
Please, no timewasters — every moment counts for these two lives.
Thank you from the heart,
Adrian & Maria – Friends InDeed
