Description
It is with a very heavy heart we put Maple up for adoption. Maple is a beautiful red working cocker spaniel coming upto 9 months old.

Unfortunately we can no longer provide Maple with what she needs, Maple is a beautiful, lovely, extremely lively girl, she is good with children however I personally would advise a family with older children, a couple or individual with a lot of time, we are a family with 3 children including a toddler, Maple has been good with the children HOWEVER she is extremely jumpy and bouncy- which has proven difficult for us with a toddler.
( We call Maple- a bouncy tigger!)
Maple loves to play with toys however these need to be differentiated to keep her engaged.
Maple has had 1-1 dog training classes however even with this input, it has proven Maple needs a considerable amount of time to be put into training and keeping her stimulated, which although we have had a reasonable amount of time to give her training it still hasn’t been enough for her.
Maple has very heightened breed traits and is extremely driven by her sense of smell, she thoroughly enjoys activities around this nature and loves a hunt for hidden pieces of cheese! Maple prefers more “wet treats” than biscuit treats.
Maple enjoys her walks, but struggles walking “nicely” on a shorter lead until in a safe place where her lead can be extended to give her more freedom.
Maple will try to chase squirrels/ birds etc.
She is fully crate trained and toilet trained ( bar the odd accident- twice in last 5 months).
Maple currently sleeps in her crate downstairs as she preferred this to the crate in our bedroom.
Maple needs an extremely active household with somebody who can give her a lot of time for training, exercising and keeping her mind active and fulfilled, someone with good knowledge of the cocker spaniel breed and a large secured garden with high fences are essential.
Maple does enjoy interacting with other dogs when on walks, uncertain on how she would be around cats.
Maple is NOT KC registered, however her mum and dad both were. ( from what her breeder disclosed)
