Description

Quick Facts - Age: 16 years - Sex: Female - Health: Winnie has hyperthyroidism and takes medication twice daily, given as liquid in her wet food. Her most recent blood tests, taken 2–3 weeks ago, showed her thyroid levels were within the normal range. - Lifestyle: Indoor/outdoor, although she doesn't tend to wander far. She can also adapt to an indoor-only home. Winnie is a wonderfully affectionate older girl who knows exactly what she wants from life: a comfortable sofa, a lovely person to cuddle and plenty of attention. She's a real lap cat who loves settling beside you and enjoying some fuss. Her foster describes her as a little attention seeker who will happily meow until you sit down to give her a cuddle. She's incredibly friendly and has a lovely way of making herself part of your day, whether she's curled up beside you on the sofa or rubbing against your legs to say hello. She's also a very sociable girl who enjoys meeting new people. Winnie will often approach visitors, rub herself against their legs and make herself at home. She's comfortable around children and is happy to be in their company, although she tends to enjoy their attention most when things have settled down a little. She's not a particularly playful cat these days, but she has plenty of affection to give. She simply enjoys being close to her people and sharing the quieter moments of everyday life. Although Winnie loves companionship, she's also happy to have a little time to herself. She'll sometimes wander into another room and settle on the sofa for a peaceful nap before coming back to find her favourite person. She's a lovely balance of affectionate and independent, and she's very content with a relaxed routine. At 16, she's looking for a home where she can enjoy her golden years in comfort, with plenty of love and the care she needs to stay happy and healthy. Play and Enrichment Winnie isn't particularly interested in toys or catnip, and she's much more likely to choose a cosy sofa over a game of chase. Her favourite activity is spending time with her person, whether that's curling up on a lap, enjoying a gentle stroke or simply keeping you company while you relax. A comfortable home with soft resting spots and easy access to her favourite places will suit her well. As an older girl, she may appreciate having everything she needs close by, with a little help maintaining a comfortable routine. Ideal Home - A quiet, peaceful home - Could be a nice fit for an older guardian or two - Comfortable around children - A home without dogs, as Winnie is not comfortable living with them. - Potential to live alongside another cat following proper introduction - Someone who can provide her twice-daily medication and continue monitoring her hyperthyroidism with her vet. Our adoption fee is sliding scale from £100 - £190, depending on postcode of adopter.
