Description
Sadly, we need to rehome our Parson Russell. We’ve only had her since December, but, unfortunately, no matter how many times he is told not to, our 5 year old delayed and neurodivergent son has gradually pushed the boundaries of her gentle personality and is mistreating her, by frightening her with toys she doesn’t like and kicking out at her, So, we are separating her into the kitchen and garden for her safety and our sanity, but also for our son’s safety in case he pushes her too far. This is unfair on our other 3 very young children who love her; they stroke her, cwtch her, lay on her and throw toys for her and I absolutely trust her in a room alone with them. She is very patient and gentle. She gets on great with other dogs on her walks on the lead. She has great recall from the garden, but is sometimes stubborn about getting up or going out if she is comfortable on the sofa! lol She is very much a family dog and is crate trained, but would be super happy if she is allowed to sleep on the sofa at night! lol she can be left for a few hours in the daytime with no trouble and does not get up in the night at all. She has a lot of energy and could do with 2 good walks a day, but gets by on one. Our young children do drop a lot of food, so it is driving us kind of crazy having to supervise this so closely as they eat a lot of things dogs can’t have and she has taken a liking to clearing the floor of new tastes, so we would recommend a family with children of at least 6 years old that don’t drop food and won’t feed her, however, I hate adverts that judge and add stipulations, so that is entirely at your discretion. She loves to be outdoors a lot (and it appears with human company at the same time, which we did not know when we rehomed her) and would benefit from a permanent flap or open door. Another doggy companion would probably satisfy her so she stays in the garden longer. Someone that works from home and loves to hike a couple of times a week would be ideal. But, as we say, you know your circumstances and what you are prepared to do to accommodate a new family member. We rehomed her expecting to have her for life and the family we got her from are not in a position to have her back. She was their world so we do feel guilty about having to rehome her again :( please only contact if you are seriously interested and prepared to come to us to visit and walk her before taking her home, as we want to witness your rapport. It would be ideal if you can bring any other dogs you have to introduce them too. We were told she is just over 2 years old. She would make a wonderful ratter with proper training for a farm as well. We did discover that she barks at birds, which is also a problem for us as we expect to get chickens and ducks in the near future, so we can’t risk her killing them with shock. We don’t know how to stop this, but perhaps there is some specific training you can find out about. She is microchipped and was wormed and flead in December. We have a vaccination record. The price is to secure a loving home for her but do contact us with your circumstances if you can’t quite manage the price and we may negotiate. She is a beautiful and loving girl and we are torn about it, but it is best for her and will relieve us of stress too. Full price in cash on collection please.
