💔 Penny returned to her foster home. Just a month ago, she left full of hope for what we believed would finally be her forever family. Unfortunately, her adopters have decided they are not the right match for her.
And honestly, Penny hasn't changed. She is still exactly the same wonderfully affectionate, enthusiastic, clever and playful girl we have always described. But Penny is a young dog who needs more than a couple of walks and a comfortable sofa. She needs something to DO, a reason to use that clever little brain, adventures to enjoy and, ideally, a playful four-legged best friend to share them with!

💔 Rescue Story
Penny was once adopted in Ukraine into what appeared to be a loving home. But when volunteers checked on her, they discovered she had been left chained outside, living in a leaking kennel. She was immediately taken back into rescue. Despite that experience, Penny never lost her extraordinary love for people.
🐾 More About Penny
Penny is one of those larger-than-life dogs who simply LOVES being alive! Walks, woodland adventures, running through streams, chasing balls, playing with dogs, sniffing, exploring — everything is exciting and worth investigating!
Her foster describes her as a wonderfully affectionate, fun-loving girl who makes friends wherever she goes. She is lively outdoors but perfectly capable of relaxing and enjoying cuddles once her needs are fulfilled.
However, Penny gets bored easily, particularly when left alone or without enough physical exercise and mental enrichment. And when bored, she finds her own entertainment! In her previous home, she developed a passion for stealing pieces of firewood from beside the wood burner. Once those were removed, she decided table legs might be worth investigating instead. 😁
This is not unusual for a clever, active young dog, but it does mean her future family should offer appropriate chew toys, enrichment, enough daily activity, rather than expecting her to entertain herself.
Penny is good with her toileting, but she strongly dislikes going outside in heavy rain. She can hold on for hours, although occasionally she may have an accident near the front door. She is happy to use puppy pads, which can help while continuing her training.
🐶 Penny's previous home had no other dog. And this may have contributed to her boredom. Penny absolutely ADORES other dogs. She is always ready for a game, a chase, a wrestling session or another adventure. In foster, she and other dog were fantastic playmates, happily entertaining each other and burning off their youthful energy together.
Do you have a young, playful dog who adores to play with other dogs, who is constantly bringing you toys, demanding games and trying to persuade you to play when you have a hundred other things to do?
THEN PENNY MIGHT BE YOUR DREAM COME TRUE! 😁❤️
Imagine your dog finally having a best friend who is ALWAYS up for playing! Two happy dogs entertaining each other, enjoying adventures together and then settling down for a well-earned rest. More happiness for them, and potentially a little more peace for you!
Penny would not be a good match for an elderly, very small or very calm or less playful dog. She needs someone who genuinely enjoys her enthusiastic approach to life.
🏡 Ideal Home
Penny needs an active, dog-loving family who enjoy long walks, countryside adventures, games and positive training. A secure garden and a young, confident, friendly and genuinely playful resident dog would be ideal. The other dog isn’t a mandatory requirement, it’s just additional bonus, which can make everyone happy if your dog is a right match.
She needs people who understand that clever young dogs require both physical exercise and mental stimulation. Someone who enjoys training, enrichment games or perhaps even agility would have enormous fun with Penny!
She is not a dog who should be left alone for long periods without appropriate preparation and enrichment. But when her needs are met, she is a beautifully affectionate, cuddly companion who loves relaxing beside her people.
💞 Penny is not a difficult dog. She is a joyful, intelligent young girl with a huge appetite for life, who simply needs a family whose lifestyle matches her wonderful personality.
She has so much love to give, so much fun to share and so many adventures still waiting for her. We just need to find the people — and perhaps the perfect canine best friend — who will love her exactly as she is. ❤️🐾
