🔄 UPDATE FROM FOSTER – THOR IS NOW THEO 💙
Our little Thor is now called Theo, and his foster family are helping him discover a world that seems to be very new to him. ❤️
He arrived a little unsure, but he is already making lovely progress. His separation anxiety is improving, he has discovered the absolute JOY of grass 🌱, and he loves going for walks and having a good old sniff around.
His foster describes him as “a full bundle of joy.” 💙
🐾 Meet Theo
Theo is an 8-month-old, very small Miniature Dachshund boy who is affectionate, curious, playful and full of character. He previously lived in a one-bedroom flat, and from his reactions in foster, it seems he may not have experienced very much of the outside world.
Now there is so much to discover — walks, grass, interesting smells, other animals and all the little things most puppies take for granted. And Theo is embracing it beautifully. 🐾🌱

💔 Surrender Story
Theo came into rescue together with his two siblings after all three had been living together in a flat.
They arrived packed into one small, completely bare crate, without a blanket or puppy pad, covered in poo and shivering. Nothing came with them — no beds, food, toys or even collars.
But that chapter is behind him now. Theo is safe in foster, learning about normal family life and discovering just how much fun the world can be. ❤️
🐾 More About Theo
Theo loves being around people and is still learning that it is okay when his humans aren't beside him. His separation anxiety has already improved in foster, but his new family will need to continue building his confidence gradually.
He is currently living very happily with two Miniature Dachshunds, and having canine company suits him well. He also lives with a cat, whom he simply ignores.
His toilet training still needs work, but he is learning. Most importantly, Theo is showing himself to be a happy, loving little boy who wants to explore, sniff, play and be part of family life. 💙
🏡 Ideal Home
Theo would ideally suit a home where his humans are around for much of the day, or where he has a friendly, similar-sized resident dog for companionship.
A secure grassy garden is important, both for his toilet training and because this little boy has only just discovered how wonderful grass is! 🌱
We are looking for a family who understands Dachshunds and wants Theo for everything that comes with the breed — not simply because they are fashionable and cute.
He needs people with time, patience and love who will continue helping him discover all the things he has missed so far.
💞 Theo has already come such a long way in a very short time. Now he needs a family who will show him just how BIG life can be for one very little sausage. 💙🐶
🩺 Health Information
Theo is not yet neutered. Because Dachshunds are particularly vulnerable to IVDD and there is evidence linking very early neutering with increased IVDD risk, we do not want to rush surgery at only 8 months old. A neutering agreement will apply, with neutering planned when he is older. Paws Help is happy to contribute towards the cost, and proof of completion will be required.
His vaccination history is currently unclear, and the rescue will cover vaccination if needed.
