Buster – 10.5 month old Shepherd x (large, 40kg)
Buster is a big, handsome young boy with a sensitive soul, looking for a very special home where he can finally feel safe, understood, and at ease.
He has been in a home in the UK for the past 5 months, and while this hasn’t been an easy decision, it’s become clear that a busy home and work environment are simply too much for him. Buster finds comfort in calm, predictable surroundings, and we want to give him the best chance to flourish in a home that suits him.
Buster is looking for a quiet, rural lifestyle with a large, secure garden. He would do best in an adult-only home with no cats, minimal visitors, and a peaceful environment. The world can feel overwhelming to him at times, especially new people, and he needs the space and patience to build trust slowly. Once he knows you, his loyalty runs deep.
He is a thoughtful, sensitive dog with “big feelings,” and while this means he can find some situations challenging, it also means he forms strong, meaningful bonds with his people. He will need an experienced owner—someone familiar with larger or guardian-type breeds, or rescue dogs—who can guide him with calm confidence and continue his rehabilitation journey.
Buster is clever and enjoys learning. In the right environment, he engages beautifully with training and has already learned lovely manners such as sit, down, wait, and walking nicely on lead. He responds well to gentle, consistent guidance and is showing encouraging progress with some reactivity through ongoing training.
At home, Buster is a joy to live with. He is clean, sleeps soundly through the night, and loves his crate, which is his safe space. He enjoys enrichment games, a good run, and his daily walks in quieter areas. He can be left for short periods and settles well after exercise.
He’s also full of character—he snores loudly, travels well, and has been on holiday where he settled happily into a routine. He is affectionate in his own way and thrives on connection once he feels secure.
Buster isn’t the right dog for every home, and that’s okay. But for the right person—someone patient, experienced, and willing to continue his journey—he has so much to give. Watching him grow in confidence and knowing you’ve helped him feel safe in the world again will be incredibly rewarding.
Buster has a full passport, is fully vaccinated and microchipped
