Description
Babu is a stunning wire haired podenco (hound) from Spain. He’s a big boy at almost 70cm to the withers and 26kg and he really is magnificent to look at - pictures don’t do him justice!
He’s been living in a home for almost 6 years since he was an adolescent but with regular visiting grandchildren around he struggles to fully relax and is therefore looking for a new, calmer, childfree home.
Babu is a lovely calm boy in the home and thrives on a set routine. He enjoys his walks and spending time out in the garden. He is a clever boy who likes to learn. The main focus of current training is around food - he is a big foodie and can struggle around high value food - but this has improved so much with training and he is very responsive to a calm, positive approach.
He is looking for an adult only home either as an only dog, or with another very well balanced female. His adopters must be prepared to continue working with us on his training.
In return he’ll repay you with lots of love and affection - he loves to rest his head on your lap and look at you with his big soulful eyes, or lean in for a bum scratch. He is crate trained and happy to be left in the home for a few hours. He walks nicely on the lead and his current adopters have done a lot of work on this with him - he can still react occasionally to loud traffic coming from behind, or the occasional dog but it’s easy to get his focus back again.
He’s a fantastic boy who in the right home will really settle and thrive. He would love a home with a garden in a town or village rather than a city. He’s currently in North Lincolnshire but we can arrange meet and greets and he can be rehomed UK wide. Support from our trainer and a behaviourist will be ongoing.
His adoption fee includes a harness and collar.
