Who’s for a serious talented yet maringinly opinionated winter project that is capable in any sphere. A personal favourite of mine meet ‘spritz’.
A very well related Irish mare standing at approx 16.1hh, 9 year old. No lumps, bumps vices nor blemishes.
In the stable, there’s a Marish face to be seen that’s for sure. However she has never bitten or kicked - she’s like a teenager in their bedroom I guess! Perfect for the farrier. Loads and travels in a trailer or lorry. Lives in or out, very easy to catch. Wormers and vaccinations up to date and has recently been seen by our equine physio - she is feeling well and ready for a job.
Spritz moves nicely on the flat- very much raw and uneducated but has the right foundations to be schooled into something very very smart. Uncapped ability over a fence, extremely neat in front and behind. A real textbook technique. Adjustable and naturally careful to a fence. If my time and finances allowed I would be keeping her looking to get those British novice clears for next year.
We have recently taken her cross country schooling over the fields and wow what a machine! Jumps any hedge or rail, never strong or silly and gave a lead to a very green horse whilst throughly enjoying herself. Personally, I think a season on the hunt field is exactly the medicine needed for her.
Fantastic in traffic. Currently being a nanny horse to my breakers. Really enjoys her hacking days.
Unfortunately spritz is far to clever for her own good she instantly knows if she has a wet and windy rider and will absolutely terrorise them. She is opinionated and thinks she is the class clown all whilst finding herself very funny. She will give you elaborate changes after a fence to correct herself (I personally think it’s a weakness thing). She will also try her luck with napping mainly in the arena if she thinks you will stand for it. If, like me , you can laugh at her roll your eyes and tell her absolutely not, you will have the world of fun on a very talented mare if your a competent, no nonsense type of jockey. This is a very talented, yet very cheap mare because she is not everyone’s cup of tea. She is like marmite you will love her or hate her.
We have taken her to numerous arena hires and should she still be here in the coming weeks will absolutely be my hunt horse of choice!
