Experienced sporting or working home sought for Luna We’re looking for a very special home for Luna, our much-loved 21-month-old Belgian Malinois cross. Luna is currently living indoors as a family pet and is very much part of the family. She is a beautiful, intelligent and energetic girl who is a quick learner and eager to please. She absolutely loves to play and has a fun, affectionate personality. With the right person and environment, she has so much potential to thrive. We would particularly love to find Luna an experienced sporting or working home where her intelligence, drive, energy and love of play can be channelled into something positive and fulfilling. Unfortunately, due to same-sex conflict within our household, Luna and our other female dog now have to be kept separated 24/7. Despite extensive management, this is no longer a sustainable environment for either dog, and we’re no longer able to give Luna the life and freedom she deserves. This has been an incredibly difficult decision. Luna is loved enormously, and finding the right home for her is our absolute priority. Luna can be reactive and needs an owner who genuinely understands large, working-breed dogs and is confident managing behaviour. She needs someone who can provide structure, consistency, patience and plenty of appropriate physical and mental stimulation. She is not spayed. Luna is good with older, sensible children and would suit an experienced home where her needs can be understood and managed appropriately. Her new owner will need to be prepared to give her time to settle and build trust, and to continue working with her in a positive and appropriate way. She is a dog who loves to play, enjoys learning and wants to engage with her person, so we’re looking for someone who will make the most of those qualities and give her plenty of appropriate outlets. We are not looking for the quickest home or just anyone willing to take her. We want to find someone who genuinely understands Luna and can offer her a stable, loving and secure home for the rest of her life. Please only enquire if you have relevant experience with large/working breeds and behavioural management and are prepared to go through a thorough vetting process. We will be completely open and honest about Luna’s history and needs with any suitable applicant. This is an extremely difficult decision for me, and I reserve the right to decline any application if we don’t feel the home is the right fit for Luna.
