Description
We are looking for the right home for our much-loved 3-year-old male rescue dog, Melman. This has been an incredibly difficult decision for us, and it comes purely from love and responsibility.
The only reason we are rehoming Melman is because he has become extremely stressed since the arrival of our baby. He finds the unpredictability and noise overwhelming, and we can see that our current home is no longer the calm environment he needs to feel fully secure. We want him to have the chance to live in a home where he can truly relax and thrive.
Melman had a very tough start in life and can be a sensitive soul, but when he feels safe he is incredibly affectionate and loving. He absolutely loves outdoor space and needs good walks and room to run. He was in his element at the beach in Portugal and still loves a proper run and time in the garden here in the UK. Melman is a small dog and he weights no more than 4kg
At home he’s a real comfort lover — he adores blankets, likes to be cosy (and even enjoys wearing a jacket as he feels the cold), and loves being on the sofa or bed. He enjoys rope toys and soft toys, and he knows how to twirl on two legs which always makes us smile. He is used to living with other dogs and cats.
He can get stressed in busy or unpredictable environments, so we feel he would be happiest in a calm home with adults only or older, dog-savvy children. He prefers not to be disturbed while resting or eating and needs owners who understand and respect his boundaries. In the right environment, he is a chilled dog who enjoys sleeping, relaxing, and being close to his people.
We are looking for someone patient, experienced, and kind who can offer him structure, exercise, and a peaceful home.
Melman is deeply loved, and we will take our time to find the right match. Serious enquiries only — we will want to speak properly and arrange meet-and-greet to ensure it’s the perfect fit.
