Description

I've only had my royal python around 6 months however I believe her to be around 2-3 years old. she is absolutely wonderful to handle and I have never been bitten or had issues while she is out. she is very happy to rest around your neck and climb. IMPORTANT: She is a great royal except for when it comes to feeding. she does not fit the standard ball python pickiness and is quite the opposite. she has an extremely high food drive and will strike at anything that moves or is warm (including the heat bulb). for this reason I will need to make sure you have either good experience with snakes or have done lots of research. How I go about feeding her: I feed her every two weeks one small rat and because it can be stressful to feed her my main tips are to turn the heat lamp off a couple hours before feeding and be very quiet. go from the left side of the vivarium and slide the door open slowly and carefully, and throw the rat in onto of the black hide. then id recommend covering the glass so she doesn't fixate on you. if she is already out and in for mode, id recommend covering the middle section and having someone on the left side and putting the rat in quickly on the right side. I have never tried using tongs but that is an option too as long as they are long enough and can hold the rats. to help navigate between feeding time and handling time I use tap training with a hook. this is where you remove her hide and tap her gently with the hook a few times. this ensures she knows it isn't food time and works perfectly. I have had multiple snakes and am only getting rid of her (and my hognose snake) as I feel I do not have the same enthusiasm for snakes as I once had, im very busy so I end up not spending as much time with them as I wish. they are very easy to keep and comes with full setup (vivarium, 2 hides, cork bark, thermostat, heat bulb and an extra heat mat) The hook will also come with the snake :) the price I think is fair considering what she comes with however open to sensible offers
