Description

Swedish Black Hen (Svarthöna) Chicks for Sale – 8 Available Rare and striking, these Swedish Black Hens (Svarthöna, also known as Bohuslän-Dals Svarthöna) are a true heritage landrace breed, completely black inside and out, thanks to their fibromelanistic trait, sometimes with an iridescent green-purple sheen to the feathers. - Egg laying: Around 140–200 small-to-medium cream or light tan eggs per year, with good winter laying - Temperament: Friendly, docile and alert — an easy-going addition to any flock - Cold hardiness: Bred for centuries in Sweden's harsh climate, they're exceptionally cold-tolerant and thrive free-ranging even in winter Extremely rare in the UK — a real conversation-starter and a great way to help preserve a heritage breed. 8 chicks available now.
