When most people picture a leaf insect, they’re usually thinking of Phyllium philippinicum. This species is the most commonly kept and widely recognised in the hobby. It remains a truly beautiful insect, displaying vibrant shades of green and yellow, and it originates from the Philippines.
These nymphs are currently unsexed, but as they are from fertilized eggs, they can mature into males or females.

Size: L2/L3 nymphs (~20mm in length)
Foodplant: Feeding well on bramble; also accepts oak, rose and raspberry species
Temperature: 20–26 °C. Room temperature is usually fine
Humidity: 60–80% – mist enclosure daily or every other day
Enclosure: Minimum 30 × 30 × 45 cm (W*L*H). Extra height preferred for moulting and climbing
