🐾 BARNEY IS LOOKING FOR HIS FOREVER HOME 🐾 When Barney first came into our veterinary practice, he was in a very sorry state — extremely underweight, unwell and in desperate need of help. Sadly, his owner was unable to afford the treatment he needed and made the incredibly difficult decision to sign him over to us. Barney required surgery to remove a blockage from his intestines, followed by further surgery when complications developed. It has been a long road to recovery, but this special boy has gone from strength to strength. ❤️ For the past couple of months, Barney has been recovering in the care of one of our vets, where he has been given plenty of time, love and attention. He is now doing brilliantly and is finally ready to find his forever home. 🐶 A little about Barney Barney is just 2½ years old, so he has his whole life ahead of him. He is an energetic, affectionate boy who absolutely loves people and thrives on attention. He enjoys his walks and already knows some basic commands. He is also very food motivated, which makes him a quick learner and gives his new owners plenty to work with when continuing his training. There are, however, some important things his new family needs to understand: 🐾 Barney needs to be the only dog in the household. Unfortunately, his previous experiences meant that he had to compete for food, and he does not get along well with other dogs. 🐾 He cannot live with cats or other small animals. Barney has a high prey drive and could potentially hurt them. For the right family, however, we believe Barney has so much love and happiness to give. He deserves the chance to leave his difficult start behind and enjoy the wonderful life he should have had all along. ❤️ Barney has now had his vaccinations brought fully up to date and has been castrated, so his new owners won’t have these initial costs to worry about. 🏡 Could you be Barney’s forever family? We are asking for an adoption fee of £100. This isn’t intended to make money from Barney — it is simply to help ensure that his new owner is genuinely committed to giving him the loving, permanent home he deserves. Any money raised will also go towards some much-deserved goodies for the amazing veterinary team who have gone above and beyond for Barney, including contributing from their own pockets to help give him the second chance he desperately needed. ❤️ Barney has already fought incredibly hard to get where he is today.
