💔🐾 SPECIAL HOME NEEDED FOR KARMA 🐾💔 This is an incredibly difficult post for me to write, but I have to put Karma’s happiness and wellbeing first. Karma is a beautiful pure Old Tyme Bulldog with a gorgeous merle colouring. Sadly, before coming to us, Karma had a very difficult time in the hands of another owner. I rehomed her when she was 2 years old, and when she first arrived she was extremely anxious and unsure of people. Since having her, we’ve realised that her issues run a lot deeper than we first thought. Karma suffers with severe anxiety, especially when she is left alone for long periods of time. She is also very wary of people she doesn’t know and needs time, patience and reassurance to learn that she is safe. But once Karma trusts you… you have a friend for life. ❤️ She is incredibly loving and loyal to the people she knows and just wants to be close to you. Karma has always been absolutely fine around children and we’ve never had an issue with her around them. Sadly, she has taken a dislike to the other dogs in our home, so she MUST be the only dog in her new home. She is also not keen on cats, so a cat-free home would be best for her. 🐾 On walks, Karma does need careful handling and reassurance. She isn’t keen on other dogs approaching her or coming into her space, so whoever takes her needs to be confident giving her distance and calmly moving her away from situations that make her uncomfortable. Her anxiety around people is also a big part of this. Sometimes she can walk past people and be absolutely fine, but other times she can become very anxious and will bark as a warning if she feels unsure or threatened. Because of this, I would not advise anyone Karma doesn’t know to approach her, reach out to her or try to pet her. She needs her space and needs to be allowed to get to know people in her own time. Whoever takes Karma will need to understand her body language, advocate for her when out and about, and be comfortable telling people not to approach or touch her. Quiet walks and avoiding busy situations may suit her best while trust is being built. 🏡 Karma needs: ❤️ A home where someone is around most of the time ❤️ To be the only dog ❤️ A cat-free home ❤️ Someone patient, calm and understanding ❤️ Someone confident managing her around dogs and unfamiliar people ❤️ Someone who will respect her boundaries and make sure others do too ❤️ Someone willing to work with her anxiety rather than give up on her ❤️ Lots of reassurance, love and consistency ❤️ Someone prepared to give her time to get to know and trust them This is not because Karma is unwanted. Quite the opposite. I love her dearly, which is why I have to be realistic about what she needs. Unfortunately, I work long hours and I’m not home as much as Karma needs me to be. Her anxiety has started getting really bad again, and it isn’t fair on her to continue living in a situation that is making her unhappy. I will be extremely particular about where Karma goes. She will not be going to the first person who asks. I need to know that whoever takes her understands her needs and is completely committed to giving her the loving, permanent home she deserves. She has already been let down once in her life and I will not allow that to happen to her again. 💔 Please only message me if you are genuinely interested, have plenty of time for her and fully understand that Karma will need patience, reassurance, boundaries and ongoing work.
