Description

Scrappy is a clever, entertaining little character, and he's settled into his foster home really well. He's doing brilliantly with house training. He lets his foster mum know when he needs to go out, and accidents are very rare. He loves his people and would happily be by their side all day. To help him learn that it's fine to have some time on his own, his foster family have used a crate for short spells. Scrappy has taken this in his stride and stays calm and relaxed when he's in there. He's also fine being left alone for short periods, which is good news for his future home. Scrappy gets on well with the other dogs in his foster home, Jaz, Minnie and Rosie, and he's a friendly, affectionate boy with all the family. He's now settling well at night and is an all-round little sweetheart. He may be a senior gentleman, but Scrappy still has plenty of spring in his step and is surprisingly lively for his age. He'll be starting regular walks in the next few days, so watch this space for more updates and new photos soon. If you think Scrappy could be the right companion for you, please get in touch with Freedom Angels to find out more. Scrappy went into foster in East Yorkshire on 19th October 2026. Please keep your eyes peeled for updates and photos to come. His Story Our volunteer in Brăila was alerted to a heartbreaking situation: the owner of two elderly dogs had died, and the family who inherited the house no longer wanted them. While our volunteers were in Romania in July for Spayathon, they went to meet the dogs. They were in a terrible state — both needed dental work, feeding up, and their vaccinations. But despite everything they’d been through, they are the sweetest, most wonderful dogs. Doobie was ready to travel first, and he has now been adopted.
