Description

Diggi is a 6 month old F1B mini Pyredoodle (Pyrenean & Poodle mix). His full adult weight is expected to be 15kg - 20kg. He was bred by us and unfortunately his owner had a change in circumstances and so he has come back to us to find him a new home. He attended puppy classes and lived a full life so he isn’t a deranged rescue who missed out on vital early socialising. It obviously isn’t ideal that he is looking for a new home but I don’t think will have any lasting effect. Although obviously unsettled from the move he is a lovely dog who will be perfect for someone who would like to skip the early puppy phase. We feel he would settle very quickly in a new home but do think he would be better suited to an owner who has had a dog before as we believe first time owners are better with younger puppies or older adults. He is just entering his teenage era and we worry a first time owners might not be able to bring out the best in him. Good bits: Generally very well behaved and well socialised. Excellent with other dogs. Walks nicely on the lead. Knows sit and settles quickly. Less good bits: He does enjoy jumping up - we have corrected this with us but he continues to do it with new people. He occasionally jumps up at the worktop to steal food. He will pull on the lead if you let him. He can be a bit scatty but this we feel is entirely due to the upheaval of moving and will disappear quickly in a permanent home. He is a bit of a wimp so doesn’t enjoy other dogs being too boisterous or being pulled around. He won’t bite he just makes a whinging noise. He suffers from car sickness. We are looking for someone who is aware they aren’t buying a fully trained dog and a few more months of work will be needed to have a wonderful dog at the end of it. Several of his siblings are enrolled in therapy and assistance training and he would absolutely be capable of also doing so.
