Quick Facts - Shar Pei - DOB: May 15, 2022 (4 years old) - Female - Medium exercise and energy level 3x 20 60 minute walks daily) Lovely Keeva has a calm and chilled-out personality with a fun side! Keeva loves to be pet and sit at the side of her favourite humans, whilst also enjoying alone time, making her an excellent companion for a work-from-home or out-of-home worker. She is generally a quiet dog who doesn’t make a fuss when someone comes to the door and is quite happy doing her own thing at home. She is also very playful. She enjoys running around and having a good time. She gets three walks a day, ranging from around 20 minutes to an hour depending on the day. She enjoys exploring around her neighbourhood and going to a nearby enclosed park where she can safely have some off-lead time. She isn’t a dog who needs to be exhausted with hours of exercise and is generally happy with a good walk followed by some time relaxing at home. Keeva is good with other dogs and is comfortable meeting them out and about. She will happily approach another dog, have a sniff and then carry on with her day. She previously lived with another medium-sized dog called Poppy and they got along well. She has also lived with a cat in the past and largely ignored them. Keeva has lived happily with older children and has been around her family's children since they were five and seven years old. She is not, however, the best with babies and toddlers as she sees them as walking treat dispensers and will steal their food (she has also nipped at a baby’s hands, they were not injured). She is currently comfortable being left for around three to four hours, so her new home should be one where she will not routinely be left for long periods. Keeva is also a very enthusiastic eater and is extremely food motivated, which could be a real advantage when it comes to helping her learn. She needs some further training around recall and would benefit from a patient family who can work with her using positive reinforcement and help her build reliable skills. Compatibility - Home with adults or adult and older children only - Needs walked 3x daily - Will need some training around separation anxiety (she barks for a bit when the owner leaves the home) - Can be left home for a few hours max at first (she can gradually be acclimated to longer periods)
