Our handsome MILO is one of those boys. 💛 Sensitive, affectionate and devoted to the people he trusts, Milo is looking for a family who will let a friendship grow at his pace — and give him the security of a home he can keep. 🌱 MILO’S STORY Milo’s life began with abandonment. As a tiny puppy, he and his brother, Diego, were left in the middle of nowhere, with nobody to protect them and no way of understanding why they had been discarded. Thankfully, both boys were found and brought to safety. Diego went on to find a home, and Milo waited for his own chance. Despite his difficult beginning, he grew into a sweet young dog who wanted affection and closeness, even when unfamiliar situations made him feel unsure. 🐾 At the beginning of April 2026, Milo found a loving home in Barnsley. Sadly, his owner is due to start a full-time job and has decided to return him to our care because of this change in circumstances. His owner can keep him until 20 October at the latest. Our greatest hope is to find Milo a suitable family before then, so he can move directly from his present home into his new one. 🤍 This would spare him an additional move and give his future adopters the opportunity to meet him in the place where he currently feels familiar and secure. 💞 THE BOY BEHIND THOSE BEAUTIFUL EYES Milo is an affectionate, people-oriented dog once he feels comfortable. He enjoys gentle attention, reassurance and being close to those he knows and trusts. He is also a sensitive boy who needs time to get to know unfamiliar people. He remains nervous around strangers, including children. His new family must understand this and be willing to make introductions slowly, without expecting him to welcome everyone immediately. The encouraging part is that, after a few meetings, he becomes comfortable with people who were initially strangers to him. 💛 Those first meetings matter. A quiet approach, a little space and the freedom to come closer when he is ready can help him discover that a new person is someone he can trust. ✨ Affectionate with the people he knows ✨ Enjoys gentle attention and human company ✨ Sensitive and observant ✨ Nervous around unfamiliar people at first ✨ Becomes comfortable after repeated, patient introductions ✨ Forms close bonds once he feels secure Milo’s affection is something to build a relationship around. His future family will need to recognise his uncertainty as well as his loving nature, helping him feel safe without pushing him beyond what he can manage. 🏡 THE HOME WE ARE HOPING TO FIND Milo would benefit from a calm, patient household where he can settle into a predictable routine and develop a relationship with his new family gradually. 🤍 Patient adopters who will allow him time to settle 🏡 A home where he lives indoors as a cherished family member 🌿 A securely enclosed garden for safe outdoor time 🐾 Gentle introductions to visitors and new experiences 🕰️ A realistic plan for companionship and any time he will spend alone ✂️ A commitment to arranging neutering with their vet 💛 People prepared to offer a lasting home and stay in touch with our rescue An adult-only home would be our preference because of his nervousness around unfamiliar people, including children. Any enquiry from a household with older children would need careful discussion and introductions. We do not rehome dogs to households with children under 10. We will discuss his current routine and behaviour with interested adopters so that everyone has a clear understanding of his needs before making a decision. 🤝 PLEASE GIVE HIM THE CHANCE TO KNOW YOU Because Milo takes time to feel comfortable with new people, we would particularly welcome adopters who can visit him more than once. A first meeting may show you his uncertainty. Further meetings can give him the chance to recognise you, relax in your company and begin building the connection that will help him through his move. 💞 There is no need to rush that friendship. We want Milo and his adopters to have a sound foundation for their life together. 📅 A NEW HOME NEEDED BEFORE 20 OCTOBER Milo can remain with his current owner until 20 October 2026, but a suitable new home is needed by then. 🏡💛 Friends InDeed is a registered charity, and we remain committed to our dogs throughout their lives. 🏡 A home-check is required for every adoption, usually carried out online. 🐕 Our dogs are rehomed as family pets only — not for breeding, guarding, working, therapy or assistance roles. 👧 We do not rehome to households with children under 10. Each dog’s individual needs may require further restrictions. ✂️ Milo’s adopters must commit to having him neutered, with timing agreed with their vet. 🤝 We offer lifetime rescue back-up and ongoing support after adoption. 📱 Phone or WhatsApp is the best way to contact us and keep in touch. 🎥 Video calls can be discussed, alongside in-person meetings where practical. 💷 Any adoption fee or donation will be explained clearly.
