Meet Pablo š¾ Pablo is looking for his forever home after a difficult start in life. We have been fostering him for the last 4 months after he came from a neglectful situation, and in that time he has made amazing progress. He is a lovely, calm boy most of the time who enjoys his walks, travels well in the car, and is very good out and about, including around roads and traffic. He is also good with other dogs and has a gentle, affectionate side once he trusts you. Like many dogs who have experienced neglect, Pablo does still have some anxieties. He can become uneasy around certain men, especially if they are loud, intimidating, or unpredictable. In situations where he feels threatened, he has shown some aggression, so this is something any potential adopter needs to fully understand and be prepared to continue working on. We have been doing a lot of work to build his confidence and reduce his anxieties, and he has already come a long way, but he will need an experienced, calm, and confident owner who understands dog rehabilitation and behaviour work. He is not a āfirst dogā type of dog and needs someone willing to continue his training and advocate for him properly. The only reason we are looking to rehome him is because we are moving our dad, who has dementia, into our home, and Pablo is unfortunately uneasy around him due to his unpredictable behaviours relating to his dementia. This decision has not been made lightly, and we simply want the best and safest environment for everyone involved ā especially Pablo. With the right person, Pablo has so much potential to be an incredibly loyal companion.
