Quick Facts
- Age: AJ is 12, Milo is 9
- Sex: Both male
AJ and Milo are two lovely older boys who enjoy being close to their people. They're proper shadow cats, happy to follow you from room to room and keep you company while you go about your day. They're also good work-from-home companions, usually content to hang out nearby rather than make themselves the centre of your meeting!
AJ is the more outgoing of the two. He's friendly with visitors, loves a cuddle and is a proper lap cat, especially when settling down with you at night. He enjoys head scratches, having his back stroked and being brushed. He's also a very food-motivated boy who gets excited when mealtime rolls around, so you'll often find him weaving around your feet to make sure you haven't forgotten.
AJ can occasionally get a little overstimulated, particularly around food or when there's lots of movement happening around him. He may give a warning bite or swipe if he's had enough. This usually happens once every 2-4 weeks.
Milo is the gentler, more timid brother. He tends to hide when new people visit and prefers to approach affection on his own terms. He's not quite a lap cat, but he loves sitting beside you on the sofa, curling up on a blanket nearby or burrowing completely underneath one to sleep. He likes a fuss when he's ready and is happiest when he can choose his own cosy spot.
Milo is the more playful of the pair. He enjoys playing fetch with little balls and springy nylon toys, as well as kicker toys and wand toys. He can entertain himself, but would appreciate daily playtime, particularly if he's spending more time indoors. He's a curious little hunter outside, keeping an eye out for butterflies, mice and other garden visitors.
Both boys love catnip, and it can be a useful way to encourage them to use a new scratching post. Milo is happy with either a scratching post or pad, while AJ prefers a post.
They've both lived as indoor/outdoor cats and have access to a fully enclosed garden in a quiet residential street. Milo enjoys longer stretches outside, while AJ tends to pop out for just a few minutes at a time. If Milo were to become an indoor-only cat, he'd need additional play and enrichment to keep him content.
