Description
Ula is one of 33 Brittanys who were kept together on a piece of land and used for hunting and showing. When the land was put up for sale and the dogs needed to be moved on, one of the shelters we work with stepped in to get as many of them out as possible before they ended up in the hands of other hunters. Initially, TSPP with a couple of other rescues were able to help 17 of the dogs, but sadly, the hunter wouldn’t give us the other dogs at the time. A little further down the line, we were asked to help another eight of the Brittanys. We quickly agreed knowing we didn’t want to risk losing the chance to help them again. Sadly, that number dropped to seven and then in the end was just four. Thankfully, those four have now made it to the shelter and have the chance of a much better life, just like they have always deserved.
Ula is a lovely girl but it’s clear she’s had quite a sheltered life. She can be wary of strangers and can be very shy when she is approached. When she’s let out into the outside area at the shelter though she really comes alive and loves running round, having a good leg stretch and taking in all the smells! She shares a kennel with another Brittany from the same hunter, and they share their kennel and food really well without any issues. Ula would do best in a quiet home without young children, and a friendly resident dog to show her the ropes! She can be cat tested for the right home.
