Description

Born: October 2021 | Weight: approx. 11 kg šŸ’™ Norman is a strikingly handsome, bright-eyed little gentleman with the most soulful expression and a wonderfully affectionate nature. Born in October 2021, he is a young adult with plenty of life, love and loyalty to give to the right home. We believe Norman may be a Terrier–Dachshund mix — he has the charming low-set build and expressive eyes of a Dachshund, paired with the alertness and characterful spark often seen in Terriers. He weighs approximately 11 kg and is a compact, sturdy boy. He has been neutered. šŸ” His Background Norman is being surrendered through no fault of his own. His young family now have two small children and are expecting another baby. As their household became busier and more demanding, it became clear that Norman was finding it increasingly difficult to cope. He has shown some nippy behaviour towards the adults when asked to do something he didn’t wish to do (for example, being moved from one room to another). More recently, he made a superficial scratch to their very young daughter’s face. While the injury was minor, the family made the responsible decision to seek rescue support to ensure everyone’s safety and Norman’s wellbeing. ✨ Norman’s Personality Aside from the incidents described above, Norman is described as a very good and affectionate boy. He enjoys closeness, comfort, and being part of his people’s world. He can be playful and engaging, and he bonds strongly. However, Norman clearly communicates when he is uncomfortable or feels pressured. His previous environment may have been overwhelming for him, particularly with very young children and constant activity. With the right guidance, structure, and calm leadership, we believe Norman has every chance to thrive. šŸ  NORMAN’S IDEAL HOME Norman will require: • An ADULT-ONLY home (no children). • Experienced, confident dog guardians who understand canine body language and boundaries. • A calm, structured environment without chaos or unpredictability. • Guardians committed to positive reinforcement training and willing to work patiently on boundaries. Norman is not suitable for homes with young children. We will only consider households where his space and comfort will be fully respected. He may benefit from being the only dog initially, where he can receive focused attention and clear guidance. A secure garden would be ideal, along with daily walks and enrichment. šŸ¤ OUR PROMISE & YOUR COMMITMENT At Friends InDeed Dog Rescue, we are committed to matching dogs responsibly and ethically. Our Promise: • Honest behavioural disclosure. • Full rescue back-up for life. • Ongoing advice and post-adoption support. Your Commitment: • Patience, structure, and consistency. • Understanding that behaviour takes time to reshape. • A lifelong commitment — Norman is not to be passed on again. Norman deserves stability and guardians who see his potential rather than focusing solely on his past. šŸ’Œ Friends InDeed Dog Rescue – Adoption Information • Home-checks apply (virtual or in-person). • Genuine dog lovers only — our dogs are family companions, not guard dogs or working dogs. • Adoption fee applies (varies depending on veterinary work completed). • References may be requested. • We offer post-adoption support and video calls where appropriate. Please note: We receive many enquiries. Serious, thoughtful applications only. We will not respond to one-line messages such as ā€˜Is he available?’ — please tell us about your experience and the home you can offer. šŸ“© Contact Us If you believe you can offer Norman the calm, committed and understanding home he needs, please get in touch with full details about your experience, lifestyle, and household setup. Norman’s next home must be his forever home.

Adrian and the team at Friends inDEED have been wonderful. We were able to go meet our dog with her sisters and we were in frequent communication during the adoption, and since with updates etc. We were also provided with some food, and lent a harness & lead to bring her home. She has already been incredibly well trained for a rescue dog as we have had no toilet accidents and she is already wonderful on her lead.
