Description
Born: October 2021 | Weight: approx. 11 kg
š Norman is a strikingly handsome, bright-eyed little gentleman with the most soulful expression and a wonderfully affectionate nature. Born in October 2021, he is a young adult with plenty of life, love and loyalty to give to the right home.
We believe Norman may be a TerrierāDachshund mix ā he has the charming low-set build and expressive eyes of a Dachshund, paired with the alertness and characterful spark often seen in Terriers. He weighs approximately 11 kg and is a compact, sturdy boy. He has been neutered.
š” His Background
Norman is being surrendered through no fault of his own. His young family now have two small children and are expecting another baby. As their household became busier and more demanding, it became clear that Norman was finding it increasingly difficult to cope.
He has shown some nippy behaviour towards the adults when asked to do something he didnāt wish to do (for example, being moved from one room to another). More recently, he made a superficial scratch to their very young daughterās face. While the injury was minor, the family made the responsible decision to seek rescue support to ensure everyoneās safety and Normanās wellbeing.
⨠Normanās Personality
Aside from the incidents described above, Norman is described as a very good and affectionate boy. He enjoys closeness, comfort, and being part of his peopleās world. He can be playful and engaging, and he bonds strongly.
However, Norman clearly communicates when he is uncomfortable or feels pressured. His previous environment may have been overwhelming for him, particularly with very young children and constant activity. With the right guidance, structure, and calm leadership, we believe Norman has every chance to thrive.
š NORMANāS IDEAL HOME
Norman will require:
⢠An ADULT-ONLY home (no children).
⢠Experienced, confident dog guardians who understand canine body language and boundaries.
⢠A calm, structured environment without chaos or unpredictability.
⢠Guardians committed to positive reinforcement training and willing to work patiently on boundaries.
Norman is not suitable for homes with young children. We will only consider households where his space and comfort will be fully respected.
He may benefit from being the only dog initially, where he can receive focused attention and clear guidance. A secure garden would be ideal, along with daily walks and enrichment.
