The Bombay is a sleek-looking, medium-sized cat that is characterised by its affectionate, outgoing nature. They have extremely beautiful, striking eyes and a luxurious black coat that sets them apart from other breeds, as they resemble panthers only in miniature. The breed is relatively new to the cat world and was developed in the 1950s by crossing a sable Burmese cat with a black-haired American Shorthair. Today, these lovely looking cats have found their way into the hearts and homes of many people around the world, not only because of their unique appearance, but also because they have such a kind and extremely affectionate nature.
