Bordoodles have high energy levels and need plenty of physical and mental exercise, which may be demanding for less active owners. Bordoodles typically range from medium to large size depending on the Poodle parent's size. The most common Standard Bordoodle weighs around 18 to 25 kilograms (40 to 55 pounds) and stands about 50 to 55 centimetres (20 to 22 inches) tall at the shoulder. Smaller versions exist if bred with miniature or toy Poodles, but the standard size is the most typical and requires ample exercise and space.

Barking serves as an outlet for their energy and as an alert behaviour, but excessive barking can occur if they are bored or distressed.
