The Boston Terrier is often referred to as American Gentleman, Boston Bull, Boxwood, and for good reason. These intelligent little dogs have an interesting pedigree, some of which can be traced back to the English Bulldog. The breed first appeared in the US in 1893 when various terrier and bull dogs were crossed. The result was the birth of the first pair of dogs that formed the foundation of the breed Boston Terrier we know and love today.
