Cairn Terriers have some health concerns including eye problems like cataracts and progressive retinal atrophy, dental issues, and a genetic jaw condition called craniomandibular osteopathy. They can also be quite strong-willed and independent, requiring consistent training and patience. Additionally, they tend to bark excessively, which may be challenging in noise-sensitive environments. They may be less comfortable around children, cats, and other pets compared to similar breeds and require regular grooming due to moderate shedding.
