The Dogue de Bordeaux, also known as Bordeaux Mastiff, French Mastiff, Bordeauxdog, is one of the oldest breeds native to France. They were originally bred to hunt large animals and were often used as fighting dogs in the past. They look impressive with their very large, distinctive heads, and despite being so large, they are extremely agile and quick on their feet when they need to be, and as such a Dogue de Bordeaux is more than capable of leaping over great heights, including garden fences.
