The Bedlington Terrier, also known as Rothbury Terrier, Rodbery Terrier, Rothbury's Lamb, is a rather unique looking dog, often described as "lamb-like" and they are known for being excellent companions and pets, as well as being popular in the show ring. True to their terrier type, Bedlingtons are "spirited and fierce" as they are very skilled hunters in the field and remain so when kept in a domestic environment. One of the oldest purebred terriers ever, the Bedlington was originally bred in northern England, but by 1877 its reputation as an extremely capable hunter was spreading to other regions of the country. These dogs may look like lambs, but they have the heart of a lion.
