Valued for speed, endurance, and friendly disposition, Lurcher dogs - sometimes called "Poacher's dogs" - have garnered a reputation as sociable pets and skilled hunters. Originally from the UK, these dogs are a crossbreed, most commonly between a Greyhound and a Terrier or collie. Lurcher dogs boast a range of coat lengths and colors, including black, white, brown, or combinations, depending on their mix. Their coats can be rough, smooth, or somewhere in-between. While their athletic build requires regular exercise, Lurchers also enjoy family time, playing well with children and other pets. With intelligence and a gentle temperament, they excel in obedience and agility training.
