The Rhodesian Ridgeback, also known as African Lionhound, African Lion Dog, is a very distinctive looking dog with its crest on its back. In their native Zimbabwe they are highly regarded as excellent guard dogs, but over the years these handsome dogs have become popular in other parts of the world, including here in the UK, thanks to their striking appearance and loyal, friendly nature. The Rhodesian Ridgeback or African Lion Dog is one of the most popular dog breeds in the UK and for good reason, as they make wonderful family pets and loyal companions to share a home with the added bonus that they are known to be good with children.
