I’m 37 years old, work from home, and have around 23 years of experience owning and caring for cats. I’m MA educated, an award winning and published freelance commercial photographer, qualified FE lecturer, but not teaching after 3 years was burnt out by it. Health-conscious and able to provide a high-quality diet, excellent veterinary care plan and a loving, stable home. As I work from home, someone is usually around, so the cat would receive plenty of company and attention.
I currently have a Chocolate point Mink Ragdoll with an excellent temperament. He is very friendly, affectionate and sociable, and is used to living with both cats and 7 dogs. The breeder I obtained him from also bred Chihuahuas and had two large dogs, several cats and children, so he has always been comfortable around other animals and different household environments.
I live in a four-bedroom house adults only. I am particularly interested in indoor cat breeds. I do, however, provide supervised outdoor enrichment for my Ragdoll. He regularly goes on walks with me and genuinely enjoys them. If he wants to go out, he will sometimes make it very clear that he would like a walk! We only go out when the weather is suitable, as he dislikes rain and strong wind.
I have a small cat proofed rear patio/ walkway, but I do not let him outside unsupervised, as its a bit of a cat trap cats get in and can't get out there is a flat roof by the garage and the garbage attracts neighborhood cats. So looking to get a smaller catio built accessible via window and fully enclosed with roof as a netted cieling would be a bit impractical and i think look bad.
I also have several enclosed, established aquariums/aquascapes, including some with fish. These are securely closed, but provide an interesting source of visual enrichment for the cats to watch.
I’m looking for a cat that can become a well-loved member of the household. I’m happy to answer any questions about my home, existing cat or how I care for my animals I brush harry's teeth e.g raw food diet, lifetime insurance, care plans with pets4homes for whatever else .
