At Acre & Shelter, our dogs are very much part of the family. We live on a beautiful rural smallholding in North Yorkshire, surrounded by horses, sheep, chickens and plenty of open space — giving our puppies the opportunity to grow up experiencing the sights, sounds and everyday adventures of country life.
We have many years of experience with Labradors and Labradoodles, and our approach to breeding is intentionally small and personal. We usually breed just one carefully planned litter each year, allowing us to give every mum and puppy the individual care and attention they deserve.
Our dogs enjoy the freedom of farm life and are first and foremost much-loved family companions. When choosing a pairing, our focus is on health, temperament and producing kind, confident, well-rounded family dogs. We use fully health-tested parents and are particularly passionate about thoughtful breeding that supports good health and longevity.
Our puppies are raised at home amongst the gentle bustle of the smallholding, with lots of handling, affection and early socialisation. Our aim is simple: to give each puppy the very best start before they leave us for their new families.
For us, breeding isn't about producing lots of puppies — it's about raising happy, healthy dogs with wonderful temperaments, and finding homes where they'll be every bit as loved as they are here.
