Meet Katie Donnelly

Hi, I’m Katie, a qualified dog behaviourist, trainer, assistance‑dog specialist, and the owner of The Dons Dog Company. My work is rooted in one simple belief: good behaviour comes from good breeding and understanding dogs. Whether I’m working with families, individual dogs, or planning a litter, my focus is always on temperament, emotional wellbeing and setting dogs up to succeed in the real world. With over 20 years of experience working with dogs, I specialise in behaviour, training and assistance dog development. I am passionate about ethical breeding, early development and lifelong support for owners. I value calm, balanced, emotionally sound dogs who can adapt confidently to everyday life whether as family companions, working dogs or assistance dogs. Outside of breeding and training, I am a long‑standing advocate for welfare‑focused, inclusive training approaches and believe strongly in supporting both dogs and their people. That’s why I offer lifetime behaviour and training support, ensuring owners never feel they’re navigating challenges alone. Dogs play an important role in improving lives, routines and wellbeing and it’s a privilege to be part of that journey, from the very beginning and well beyond it.
