Hello and welcome!
We are a family based in beautiful South Dorset, and our love of dogs is centered around our gorgeous five-year-old Mini Goldendoodle, Nutmeg, who is very much part of our family.
This is Nutmeg's first and only litter, something we have given a great deal of thought, preparation and care to. We made the decision that if we were going to have puppies from Nutmeg, we wanted to do it once, do it properly and ensure that both her health and the puppies' welfare came first.
Finding the right stud dog was extremely important to us. We chose Sid, a lovely Mini Goldendoodle who lives just ten minutes away. He was a similar type to Nutmeg, slightly smaller in size, and had a completely clear health screening panel. Both parents have undergone health testing, and we were keen to make informed decisions at every stage.
Our journey to having this litter wasn't entirely straightforward. Following an initial unsuccessful attempt earlier in the year, we took additional advice and used progesterone testing to help establish the optimum timing. We eventually went down the artificial insemination route, which meant working alongside experienced and knowledgeable people, including the stud owner, a cytologist and a sonographer.
Although we aren't professional breeders, we have invested many hours researching, learning and seeking advice to ensure we give Nutmeg and her puppies the very best care. We've also been fortunate to have friends with experience of whelping family dogs, as well as contacts within the dog grooming and training community, all of whom have been generous with their knowledge and guidance. We are only in week two of this first time whelping journey but all the puppies have already experience early neurological and scent stimulation which is known to enhance their stress resistance to future handling and to bolster up their little immune systems. Every pup in the litter have so far shown that they have inherited both Nutmeg's and Sid's lovely temperaments.
For us, breeding this litter has never been about producing puppies for the sake of it. It has been a very special experience with our much-loved family dog, and our priority throughout has been to raise happy, healthy, confident puppies who are ready to become cherished members of their new families.
We understand that choosing a puppy is a big commitment, and we want our puppies to find the right forever homes just as much as prospective owners want to find the right puppy.
We are very happy to answer questions, share information about Nutmeg and Sid, and talk prospective families through the puppies' development. We want you to feel comfortable, informed and confident throughout the process.
Most importantly, we hope to find seven wonderful families who will love their new little companions as much as we love Nutmeg.
