Description

Meet Xav – Loving, Playful Domestic Shorthair (8 Months Old) Key Details: • Name/Nickname: Xavier (Xav) • Age: 8 months (DOB: 19 Nov 2025) • Breed: Domestic Shorthair • Health: Neutered, fully vaccinated (2 shots), microchipped, and healthy Xav is a handsome, sweet-natured 8-month-old domestic shorthair looking for a loving forever home. He is a curious, young cat who loves engaging play sessions, exploring his surroundings, and settling down for quiet nap times once he's tired out. He is very vocal and likes chin scratches and cheek rubs at his own will - he is not one to enjoy being picked up and held for long durations and will tell you when he wants attention. He is an active lil fella during the night and loves chasing red lasers around and playing with automated play toys. He'll often climb and jump to the top of his pet tower overseeing the world from the window and antagonizing the rat plush dangling from it. He loves watching people eat and his almost plead like stares as you eat expecting to hve full access to your food. He does not like to snatch, he waits patiently for treats and food and doesn't try to access treats/food without it being in the open and unboxed. He has a fascination with everything. Routine & Care Needs: • Diet & Routine: Xav is well-established on a consistent daily routine of dry food and wet food. He is used to eating set portions spaced throughout the day and responds very well to timed automatic feeders. He has 1 x Royal Canin Kitten Loaf Pouch split into 3 meals and 50g of Royal Canin Dry Food. He loves freeze dried chicken cubes as treats. I do not often feed him anything else due to domestic shorthairs tendencies to put on weight extremely fast. There is enough dry and wet food for him until near the end of this year and this will be provided to you along with his dry and wet automatic feeders and water fountain. He is fully vaccinated, micro-chipped and neutered. Ideal Home: Xav would suit a caring household where he can get plenty of interaction, love, and playtime. Again he is not an outdoor cat. He loves staring at other cats and dogs although I am unsure how he'd get on directly with them. He is fine with children and humans in general. Reason for rehoming: - Currently unable to fully get the freedom he deserves due to a family member recently moving back in with their dog. - Family members leaving doors open causing inability to monitor him 24-7 to ensure he doesn't get lost outside - Own mental health reasons that is causing a heavy decline in ability to provide consistency to him - Extreme sleep deprivation which is made 10x worse by (no fault of his own) his zoomie activity during the night.
