It is with a heavy heart that I am looking for the right home for my lovely 2-year-old whippet. He is a beautiful boy who deserves a home where his needs can be fully understood and met. Unfortunately, since settling into his new home, he has developed difficulties when left alone. He becomes destructive around the door when we leave the house, and this is something we are struggling to manage. I want to be completely honest about his needs so that he can find a home that is the right fit for him. He may benefit from an owner who has experience with whippets or similar breeds and who has the time, patience and understanding to work through his difficulties with being left alone. He enjoys having things to occupy him, and we have tried enrichment toys, lick mats and chews, but these have not resolved the issue. He has also struggled with crate confinement, so a home that does not rely on crating him would be important. I am looking for a loving, responsible home that can offer him stability, patience and a genuine commitment to his wellbeing. Someone who understands that rehoming can be a big adjustment for a dog would be ideal.
